Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. 1 John 4:7-12 (NIV)
Prove it!
Have you ever had someone say that to you? If you are really sorry, then prove it. If you really think you can dunk a basketball, prove it. If you really think you can beat me in basketball, prove it. If you think you are a better salesman, prove it. If you really love me then prove it.
Men, maybe there was a time in your relationship where you were feeling the pressure to prove your love for your girl. She has been throwing the hints she’s willing to spend the rest of her life with you. You, however, are dragging your feet on proving your love in return to her. Maybe you haven’t proved your love yet. After all that’s how we know we love someone or we are loved by someone. There is evidence if it. Not just in words but in actions.
As cliché as it is, “love is a verb.”
But how will I know she loves me? How will I know he loves me back? Well, he’ll prove it to you. You’ll know by what he sacrifices to be with you.
Many wonder if God loves them. Then I’ve heard several, pray for God to show them he loves them.
God has shown us how much He loves us. He showed us by giving the best he had and giving His own Son, Jesus.
How much does God love us? Enough to give Jesus. How much does Jesus love us? Enough to give His life to be the covering payment for all our wrongs.
Why do we say God is love? Because God gave his best for us to have the best.
My next Step:
Know that God has shown me his love and let that love complete me.
