Weekend Reflect: Sent wk 4

This is 7 days past due, but it’s worth going back in the mental archive to reflect on the final installment to our series entitled SENT.

We wanted to clarify that every Christ follower is a priest and to accept Christ’s forgiveness and salvation is to accept his calling to be sent into the world.

To put a final stamp on this series we wanted to commission those who were ready to be Sent.

We opened the service with a song Troy and I wrote called Send Me

The rest of the songs in the worship set were:

Nova (Hillsong United: Aftermath)
How Wonderful (Troy Kennedy: Undone)
Our God (Passion: Awakening)

At the end if the message we asked people to come forward to be anointed and Sent. We gave them a certificate if commissioning.

It was a powerful time as we made a statement that we were accepting to be called out to share Jesus with our world.

As people were coming forward the band played I Surrender All while we displayed scriptures of commission on the center screen.

This pic is from our 10a service.

After everyone was anointed, Pastor Dan prayed over those who came forward and we sang Mighty to Save (Hillsong: Mighty to Save) before kicking them out of the door.

It was also special to have my parents, up from Neosho, here for this service.
