We’ve been dissecting Philippians 4:6-7 in our current series, Constant Contact. A series centered on the idea that we are to live a lifestyle of constantly asking God, thanking God, and trusting God.

6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)

Today, we talked about being constantly “thankful.” You can watch the message tomorrow night on our online campus.

Plussing

  • To help focus our minds on the topic, we have been reading scriptures of thanksgiving and leading people in prayer 10 minutes before the service starts. Scriptures include Ps 100, 119:5-8, 116:16-17; Eph 5:18-20, etc.
  • Pre/post music is comprised of Gregorian chants. We wanted the atmosphere to have a different vibe and this did it.
  • We opened with a new song that was written a few days ago by one of our worship leaders. We opened the service with Quietly. Thanks to Debbie McNeil for sharing her gift with us
  • That being said, we’ve used the last couple of weeks to “ramp up” our worship time. Instead of starting big, we have begun more introspectively and prayerfully. We have ended our sets with the more driving and anthemic songs.

  1. I’m enduring many little safety complaints about the most up-to-date blog and I’d love to come across a thing more safe. Have just about any suggestions?
