Factors that provoke Change

Change is difficult, but it is necessary to grow. There are several factors that provoke change. In the book LADDERshifts by Sam Chand he talks about 4 things that bring change:

  1. Critics
  2. People you have outgrown
  3. The weight of responsibility
  4. Personal inadequacies.
Growing through these things are painful. It painful to listen and understand your critics. It is painful to disengage relationships that bring you down. It is painful to accept more responsibility and take challenges that risk failure. It is even more painful to taking a new adventure and finding out you are not qualified for it and gaining the courage to learn, delegate, or get out.
Leaders endure these pains and by growing through these pains, they remove the limit of their leadership.
“Leaders only grow to the threshold of their pain.” – Sam Chand
