Read this from Seth Godin’s article, The marketing of conspiracy theories“:

Doubt is something people often want to buy, particularly if it gives them comfort.

He highlights that pe0ple will buy-in to doubt before they buy into truth. Why? Because it makes us comfortable. Doubt creates worry and worry opens the door for you to depend on someone/something else.

This is why marketing sells on doubt.

Are you sure? What if…?

Worry is doubt personified. As Christ-followers, we have to flip our worries and our what-if’s.

Flip the worries and doubts that consume you. Flip the “what if this happens,” or “what if they,” or “what if it never.”

Paul gives us an antidote for doubt in Philippians 4:

6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Philippians 4:6-8

Flip your worries into worship.

Don’t worry about it. Pray about it and thank God for all He has done for you!

Flip your “what-if’s” into “what-is.”

What-if’s can create an imaginary fairy-tale land of events that will never happen. What-if’s are lies. So flip the what-if’s into what is: True, , honorable, right, pure, lovely and admirable.
